Poetry Assignment #1

1. The author said a poem by Charles Bukowski
2. The irony of the commercial is that the poem is saying this is your life and your control, yet no credit is given to the author. He had no control of what was put into the video part of the commercial as they did not give him credit.
3. I think the poem does reflect his reputation as they put it on probably thinking no one would protest to it and no one would remember him but at the same time they were wrong

I typed in the 1st few words of the poem on google

Intro to AP English Lit

My reason for taking this course is because I need the credit. When I transferred schools the idea was it would help me get ready for college. Then I needed it and was not sure about college. Now I'm indifferent about what to do and what not to do. I'm in the class now very interested and entertained. Still wondering if I should just jump strait for a job or plan a career.
What makes me excited about this class is that it's my last English class. Well maybe like I said I'm not sure about college. If I end up taking another class similar to this I'm excited to learn.
I'm nervous about speaking out, loud standing up, and having to speak but as people have already said "you will get over that by the end of year, he makes you speak a lot". I'm not excited for the social aspect of the class, but can't do anything to get away from that. So that's all on my mind about the class my fears and excitement.
